Who Pays?

If anyone questions the mechanics or the rules of our society it is easy to forget that “we are all in this together”.

Civilisation as such has taken several forms over several millennia and there is no certainty that the way the world governs itself (including financing) will continue to change as it certainly did in the 20th century.

Opinions will always differ about the rights and obligations of citizens, but I’m certain that those who consider themselves disadvantaged will always claim to be in the unfairly treated basket.

It’s obvious, to me at least, that a generous pension system, including unemployment benefits, beats the alternatives of beggars on the street or burglars making a living from ill gotten gains.
