Elections really are all about money!

JFK's famous words “Ask not what your country can do for you,,,” have been conveniently thrown out the window in every one of the fifty odd elections that I’ve experienced as a voter.

The overwhelming majority of voters will spend their entire voting life following decisions made by them in their late teens, heavily and mostly permanently following the voting history of their family – as if showing their loyalty to a favourite footie team.

The candidates who favour belt tightening and truncated government spending as part of responsible money management are on a hiding to nothing when compared with the opposition listing all the goodies that will flow from their occupation of the government benches.

Now that our federal election is over, one can only concentrate on our own life management and money management and hope that nothing emerges from Canberra that will drastically alter our own path through life.
